“When it comes to pesticides, people naturally think of 'pollution'. This phenomenon of 'discoloration of pesticides' is a misunderstanding of misinformation of pesticides. Pesticides are also human tools, and agriculture. Tools for fighting pests. Cars must comply with traffic rules, drive illegally, and have accidents. The responsibility lies with people. The use of pesticides also has rules. Accidents caused by illegal use are also in the hands of people." This is pesticides. Master Chen Wanyi responded to the mistakes made by people in the society about pesticides. Pesticides are the tireless pursuit of his life.
Chen Wanyi at the age of 90
Chen Wanyi, a professor at China Agricultural University, is a giant in the field of pesticides in China. He was born in Zhenjiang in April 1929 and was admitted to the Department of Agricultural Chemistry of Peking University Agricultural College in 1949. After the department was merged into Beijing Agricultural University, Chen Wanyi stayed in school after graduating in 1956. He has served as research assistant, lecturer, associate professor, professor and doctoral tutor at China Agricultural University (formerly Beijing Agricultural University). He used to be the director of the Pesticide Synthesis Teaching and Research Group and the Director of Pesticide Science; the main founder and the first editor of the Journal of Pesticide Science. In 1999, he retired and has been working on the case.
Chen Wanyi was a council member, executive director and honorary director of the China Plant Protection Society. He is a member of the Pesticide Professional Committee of the Plant Protection Society, the chairman of the Pesticide Division, and a member of the National Pesticide Registration Review Committee.
In the last century, under the leadership of Hu Bingfang and Huang Ruilun, Chen Wanyi studied the mechanism of chlorination reaction in the production of parathion, the abnormal reaction of phosphorus pentasulfide and tertiary alcohol. He draws on the experience of foreign prevention and control of subcutaneous flies, and screens the fly poisonous phosphorus (called M. sinensis No. 3) which is excellent in the control effect on the silkworm parasitic flies. The pesticide was tested in Tianjin in 1966. Factory trial production.
After the 1980s, Chen Wanyi and Professor Shang Heyan cooperated to develop a preparation for the prevention and treatment of subcutaneous flies. In 1987, it was identified by experts as “the first domestically-produced new dosage form with promotion value”. He first discovered that the phosphorus-containing compound O-(α-cyano-m-phenoxybenzyl) phosphorothioate and amide have inhibitory activity against soil root cancer of root cancer, and developed a synthetic nematicide. A new route to kill phosphorus.
In 2003, when he participated in the national medium- and long-term (2006~2020) scientific and technological development planning strategy research, under his suggestion, the environmentally compatible chemical pesticide research and development was listed as the key in the plant protection technology upgrade strategy research report. One of the projects promoted the rapid development of chemical pesticide research in the next 10 years.
After 10 years of research, Chen Wanyi has achieved fruitful results. He has won one national invention second prize, two national science conference awards, and four invention patents.
